 As March quickly dawns on us, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every sonic souldier old and new, for some of the responses we’ve had on our social pages these past few months, it’s been awesome chatting with some of you. Right, down to business…
At the beginning of February our attention was drawn to a rather cool free acappella download of Artful’s ‘Could Just Be The Bassline’.
 If you aren’t familiar with the name, Artful (Mark Hill) then you maybe more familiar with his former moniker Artful Dodger, responsible for Craig David’s number one album ‘Born To Do It’ and was pretty much at the forefront of the UK Garage boom of the late 1990′s.
Well…Artful is back and has teamed up with ‘The A Team’ singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran on CJBTB to create, (in our opinion) one of the unsung anthems of 2011.
On first listen to the vocal (beautifully delivered by Kal Lavelle). We knew we had to go with a ‘hair standing on end shit’ sort of feel. It kind of sums up the nature of the vocal, it exudes the feeling of euphoria even in its most basic form. Which is the mark of a great song in our book.
 So…that was our main objective with this one. Keep the integrity of the main vocal and of course a large helping of disco magic to keep the toes tapping. You wouldn’t expect anything less!

Today we bring you something a little different, in the form of our very first (and definitely not last) radio podcast.

At the beginning of the year we were approached by Radio SoLoud to produce a show for them, showcasing some of our favourite tracks. So…naturally we obliged and combined 30 minutes of some of the tastiest 80′s funk with 30 minutes of the most banging Nu Disco floor fillers to give you a whole hour of unparalleled groove.

Although the show aired on 12th of February 2012,  we have given you the opportunity to listen again by making the show a free download because that’s the sort of guys we are!

We had so much fun making this, we are planning to make another 3 shows throughout the rest of the year. So be sure to stay tuned on our Facebook page etc for any updates!

Speaking of great content, we were approached by our good friend Jay’s Toy Robot a few weeks ago with a request to remix ‘Shine Like Stars’ that we just couldn’t ignore.

Happy New Year Sonic Souldiers!

With the excitement of Christmas and New Year well and truly behind us, we thought we would keep the party spirit alive into 2012 with a new and exclusive free download for all of you good people to get down with.

This time we’ve chosen Daft Punk’s ‘Harder Better Faster Stronger’ as our latest subject matter for the Sonic Soul treatment.
Those with a memory for music, will vividly remember this release all those years ago, back in 2002 and the impact it had on dance floors across the world over.

A lot has happened with the tune in the years in between, a little sample trickery from Kanye West and countless remixes popping up on the net have all contributed towards this work taking it’s rightful place in the dance ‘hall of fame’.

With such an illustrious past, we cannot say we were not daunted by the challenge of remixing ‘HBFS’ but it did seem like a natural choice and we had so much fun, it was the perfect way to show our respect to a really big influence on us.
We just hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we did making it.
